Patatas bravas

We are preparing one of the classic and most popular dishes in Spain – Patatas bravas! A spicy sauce based on Spanish paprika is a must-have addition to freshly fried potatoes.

Ingredients

1. Potatoes - 4 pieces (medium size)
2. Olive oil - 2 cups
3. Himalayan pink salt - to taste
4. Tomato sauce - 1 jar
5. Mustard - 1.5 tsp.
6. Tabasco sauce - 1 tsp.
7. "Spanish smoked paprika" from the line "Tastes of the World" - 1 tsp.
8. Wine vinegar - 1 tsp.

Preparation:

  1. Peel the potatoes. Cut each potato twice lengthwise. Each of these 4 long pieces is still cut crosswise. Add Himalayan pink salt to the potatoes.
  2. In a large deep frying pan with a heavy bottom, pour the olive oil and heat over medium heat.
  3. Fry the potatoes for about 10 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Put the fried potatoes to a paper towel.
  5. Prepare the sauce: in a small frying pan pour 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil and heat over medium heat. Add tomato sauce to the oil and simmer for 5 minutes. Add the mustard. Mix thoroughly. Add tabasco sauce, “Spanish smoked paprika” from the “Tastes of the World” line of the Trading House “Lubystok”, vinegar. Stir.
  6. Put the potatoes on a plate and add the sauce.
  7. Traditionally, Patatas bravas are served warm and eaten with toothpicks.
